I was born and raised in rural East Texas where my parents pointed me toward the Lord at a young age. When I was just a boy, the Lord redeemed me and I have walked with him ever since. 

During my college years at The University of Texas, my relationship with the Lord began to flourish. While at Texas, I met Kathy, my bride. We were both student-athletes and served in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes together. Kathy and I grew up in the Lord alongside each other and fell in love at the same time. We were married in June of 2007. 

Fresh out of Graduate School at UT, we moved to Dallas when I accepted a job to join the Football Coaching Staff at SMU. I spent 12 wonderful years coaching young men at life and winning a few ball games along the way. 

In the middle of my coaching career at SMU, God called me to serve as a lay elder at The Village Church. God used my experience as an elder at The Village to help prepare me to step into vocational ministry. In the Lord’s kindness, He brought me to Eastside to serve the church full-time. I am truly honored to be a part of the leadership team of Eastside Community Church. 

Kathy and I live in the Lake Highlands community of East Dallas. We have 4 incredible kids: Luke, Eli, Emma, and Lily. As a family, we enjoy competing in sports, watching college football and eating Texas BBQ.
