I was born and raised in Plano, Texas in a loving family. Growing up, I heard the gospel often but never had a personal relationship with Jesus. I lived a comfortable and happy life with my family and felt I didn’t need much more. It wasn’t until my mid-twenties, after my world was upended, that God softened my heart and showed me how He had been working in my life.
God continued to work as He surrounded me with faithful believers who loved and evangelized me. I was surrounded by loving Christians. A friend at work (now my wonderful husband, Seth) spoke with me often about his faith and lent me his copy of Mere Christianity. I read the book right away and loved it. I felt like God was speaking straight to me.
At a friend's invitation, I visited Eastside Community Church in the fall of 2018. After attending for a few weeks, I was saved. 2 Corinthians 5:17 was and still is a great comfort to me, reading, ““Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
My hope for Eastside is that we would be a welcoming place for anyone to learn who Jesus is and what that means for their life.
