Isaiah deLaura
Student Minister
I was born in Portland, Oregon but spent most of my life in Honolulu, Hawaii. I grew up in a home that introduced me to the Lord early on. I moved to Dallas in 2010 where I attended SMU and worked as a member of the Football Staff.
My time at SMU is where I really started to chase after the Lord and where my relationship with Him began to deepen. I had a great group of friends rally around me and display what it looked like to live a life dedicated to following the Lord. While at SMU, I met my amazing wife Courtney. We married in May 2017 and welcomed our daughter Aubrey into the world in March 2020. Courtney continues to love me more than I deserve and pushes me each day to be a Godly man, husband and father.
Before working at Eastside, I worked with teens and young adults with special needs through Young Life’s Capernaum ministry. It opened my eyes to the Gospel in a whole new way and revealed my passion to seek out and share the love of Christ with all people. My friends with special needs have taught me to love and serve others unconditionally.
We currently live in Lake Highlands and are so excited to be a part of the East Dallas community and Eastside Community Church.
