Summary
Eastside Community Church of Dallas is seeking a full-time Head of School to lead and oversee Scofield Christian School, a ministry of the church. The Head of School provides visionary leadership, ensuring the school upholds its Christian mission while maintaining academic excellence. This role involves overseeing curriculum, faculty, student care, and family engagement, as well as managing strategic planning, finances, and school operations. The Head of School fosters a spiritually nurturing environment for both students and staff, guiding the school to pursue our mission of loving one God, loving all people, and making disciples everywhere.

Direct Report:
This position reports to the Lead Pastor.
General Qualifications:
A consistent, contagious, and fruitful relationship with Jesus Christ, exhibited by the fruit of the Spirit, which is “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Gal 5:22-23). Character qualities reflected in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
A track record of serving in ministry, loyalty to pastoral leadership, and a desire to equip the saints in ministry.
Free from addictions and life-dominating sins; willing to limit one’s liberty for the sake of others, living above reproach.
Demonstrated competence in doing the work of ministry. The candidate should be able to demonstrate gifting and ability as necessary for ministry leadership.
A commitment to the Church’s mission, values, statement of faith, and philosophy of ministry.
If married, a spouse who enthusiastically supports the candidate’s participation and leadership in the church.
Enthusiastic recommendation by a pastor and two other references who confirm the candidate’s potential for ministry.
The time and energy to work full-time in ministry in the flexible and at times demanding responsibilities of church work, including some nights and weekends.
Specific Qualifications:
Educationally prepared for Head of School leadership (M.A. in Education or School Administration, or nearby discipline preferred).
At least 5–10 years of experience in a school environment, including prior leadership experience as a teacher, department head, or assistant principal.
Able to articulate the purpose and strengths of the christian school movement and a knowledge of state and federal regulations.
Compassion, integrity, and humility in leadership.
Ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
A keen interest in working as a team and the ability to function independent of micromanagement.
Job Responsibilities:
Leadership and Vision:
In partnership with the church elders and school advisory board, develop and communicate a clear vision for the school that aligns with the mission of the church.
Foster a spiritually nurturing environment that integrates faith into all aspects of school life, including academics, extracurricular activities, and community service.
Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to Christian values and servant leadership.
Academic Oversight:
Guide the school to maintain ACSI accreditation.
Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s curriculum.
Ensure that teaching and learning are rigorous, relevant, and reflect both academic excellence and Christian teachings.
Faculty and Staff Management:
Hire, train, and supervise faculty and staff, ensuring they adhere to the school’s mission and standards.
Provide regular feedback and evaluations of staff performance.
Student and Parent Engagement:
Foster a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for students.
Implement school policies regarding behavior, discipline, and conflict resolution in accordance with Christian values.
Encourage parent involvement in school events and activities, fostering a sense of partnership in the educational process.
Operational Oversight:
Develop and manage the school’s budget, ensuring financial health and accountability.
Work with the school advisory board and church elders to set long-term goals and assess the school’s growth and impact.
Take the lead in school fund raising efforts, including the annual fund event.
